ESPG submits financial report to Finance and AG’s office

EAST Sepik Province under Governor Allan Bird became the first in the country to submit their annual financial report (2017 & 2018) to the Finance Department and the Auditor General’s Office.

Governor Bird did the honors handing over the report to Finance Secretary Dr Ken Nangan and Acting Auditor General Gorgon Kega at the Vulupindi Haus.

The event in itself marks an important occasion for the people of East Sepik and a milestone achievement for the Provincial Executive Council under Governor Bird and Administrator Dr Clement Malau.

“It is certainly an important occasion certainly for the people of East Sepik. We’ve been behind on producing our financial reports and one of the things that is important for us as a government is to demonstrate to all our stakeholders particularly our people that we are doing the right thing, with all the funds that we have been entrusted to and critical to it is the production of financial reports.

“I’m very pleased with the effort from our finance team lead by our Acting Deputy Mrs. Sari and the Finance Manager and of course Dr Malau in producing this report”, said Mr. Bird.

“The general public not only in East Sepik but all over the country has lost confidence in our ability to manage and that leads to all kinds of other issues and I think for Sepik in particular we have been working really hard to try to restore that confidence”, he added.

Governor Bird again thanked the public servants in East Sepik province for the great effort.
Secretary Nangan thanked Governor Bird and the East Sepik Provincial government for being the first province in the country to submit their annual financial statement and commended their achievement.
